January 1st 2015: Bitcoin Price SGD: $448

January 15th 2015, Startup BootCamp Fintech Singapore launches with a pitch event featuring three Bitcoin/Blockchain companies.
January 29-30th 2015, Inside Bitcoins Singapore is held at Suntec Convention center.
February 2nd 2015, Paul Snow and Peter Kirby of Factom visit Singapore to present how their blockchain based document securing system works.
February 14th 2015, Quantified Assets makes buying digital versions of gold and silver easy using a Bitcoin vending machine located at Hackerspace.
February 27th 2015, Terence Chua, Deputy Senior State Counsel / Deputy Public Prosecutor at the Attorney-General’s Chambers, Singapore stated in an interview “There are a lot of benefits to it (bitcoin)”.
March 13-17th, 2015, Coinpip, a cross border payments service utilizing blockchain technology is sponsored by the Singapore governments Infocomm Investment to represent Singapore at South by Southwest (SXSW).
April 20th 2015, Interpol in Singapore creates a new digital currency to understand how fight cybercrime.
April 21rd 2015, David Moskowitz of Coin Republic presents on Smart Money with Bitcoin and Cryptocurrencies at the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (iDA) Smart Nation Innovations 2015 event.
April 23rd 2015, Amos Meiri of Colu.co visits Singapore to present how Colored Coins can be used to create a new level of innovation on top of Bitcoin.
April 24th 2015, Bitcoin exchange CoinHako becomes the first Asian exchange to have fully insured bitcoin deposits via Bitgo’s wallet insurance program.
May 6th 2015, SMU hosts a Digital Banking summit, with multiple panels focused on Bitcoin and blockchain.
May 6th 2015, Dr Vivian Balakrishnan, Minister for the Environment and Water Resources and Minister-in-charge of Smart Nation talks about Bitcoin and Blockchain in a dinner speech at the SKBI dinner
May 8th-9th, DBS Bank holds the first Bitcoin/Blockchain focused hackathon in Asia. SGD$33,000 in cash awarded to three teams.
May 28th to 29th 2015, Ethereum holds a 2 day information and coding event held at SMU.
July 21st 2015, Bitcoin exchange BitX raises US$4m in Series A funding from Naspers and Digital Currency Group.
July 27th The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) announces the launch of a FinTech & Innovation Group (FTIG), along with a S$225m fund called the Financial Sector Technology & Innovation or “FSTI” scheme.
July 28th 2015, Blockchain CEO Nicolas Cary visits Singapore to meet with politicians, regulators an bankers as part of British PM David Cameron travels to Asia to promote FinTech.
August 1st 2015, Mexico based bitcoin exchange meXBT acquires Coin Republic’s brokerage operations for an undisclosed amount.
August 25th 2015, Monetary Authority of Singapore’s (MAS) Financial Centre Advisory Panel (FCAP) discussed strategies to grow Singapore’s financial center, promote innovation and the use of technology, and build deep skills and capabilities. As part of the FCAP they would be looking at the application of blockchain technology and distributed databases to facilitate price discovery and smart contracts.
September 3rd 2015, Coinbase launches a Singapore version of its Bitcoin wallet and buying/selling service.
October 6th 2015, Ripple Singapore launches the world’s first Gold and Silver Ripple gateway service.
October 12th 2015, SWIFT Innotribe hosted event in Singapore awards $50,000 to Blockchain startup Hyperledger.
October 26th 2015, Digix launches a a digital Gold and Silver platform on the Ethereum blockchain.
November 12th 2015, Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong talks about Bitcoin and Blockchain in a dinner speech at United Overseas Bank (UOB) 80th anniversary dinner. “blockchain, which is used for bitcoin, can also be used for many other applications like real-time gross settlement and trade finance verification.”
December 17th 2015, DBS, Standard Chartered, IDA and MAS announce publicly their project to put Trade Finance onto a blockchain, developed locally, using Ripple technology.
